PHOTOS: Ruto Visits the Late Mzee Moi’s Family at Kabarnet Gardens

Deputy President Dr William Ruto has visited the family of the late late retired President Daniel Arap Moi’s family at Kabarnet Gardens, Nairobi.

DP Ruto had on Tuesday morning visited Lee funeral home where the body of Mzee Moi is lying.

At Lee, Ruto heaped praises on Kenya’s second head of state who passed away on Tuesday morning.

Ruto in his statement earlier on said that it is sad to say goodbye to a man whose legacy we all feel, thanking  God for the gift of Mzee Moi’s leadership.

“It is sad to say goodbye to a man whose legacy we all feel, and we thank Almighty God for the gift of Mzee Moi’s leadership. In this sad moment of great loss, therefore, let us still rejoice because of what he did for his countrymen and countrywomen,” read part of the statement.

Ruto also noted that Moi will be remembered for championing for the girlchild education and education to the marginalized communities.

Previously, Ruto had been barred on several occasions from accessing Mzee Moi’s home when he was still alive.

Ruto in 2018 visited the retired President at his Kabarak home but failed to meet him because of what Mr Moi’s office said coincided with doctors session with Mzee.

Baringo senator Gideon Moi and Ruto have been engaging in political rivalry over a long period of time.

The DP had earlier on visited Kakamega Primary School to check on the injured pupils and condole the families who lost their loved ones.
