Reading Manager Reveals Why The Club Decided To Sign Ayub Timbe

Ayub Timbe sealed his sensational move to English second-tier side Reading on Friday evening. The Harambee Stars winger becomes only the second Kenyan to play for an English team playing in the top two divisions after Victor Wanyama who features for Tottenham Hotspur.

Timbe has been training with the Championship team for well over a month and will play for the team on loan from Beijing Renhe until the end of the season. Upon his signing, Reading manager Mark Bowen revealed that the winger’s speed and overall raw talent impressed the technical bench, hence his signing.

“Masika is a precocious talent with real speed that means he can hurt the opposition in good areas of the field.

“We’ve had a look at him in training over recent weeks and he’s shown good qualities. He’s catching up on his fitness a little bit with the Chinese league being out of season at the moment, but I think he can be a real asset to us and I’m delighted to have him here,” he said.

The winger will get his chance to showcase his talents to the Reading fans on Tuesday when they face off with Cardiff City in an FA Cup replay.

Reading is fifteenth in the Championship table and they have not won in their last five matches in all competitions.
