Some might have thought that her political career was doomed after Passaris beat her for the Nairobi Women Rep position in 2017. However, the Nyamu was on Friday appointed to the Agricultural docket by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.
Following this appointment, Nyamu will undergo vetting before taking office. Apart from being in the political scene, Nyamu is also a qualified lawyer and a Director at Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company.

Karen Nyamu is a mother of one daughter and from several photos on her social media pages, it is clear that they have a tight bond. Nyamu once introduced the father to her child; Dj Kevin, during fathers day and thanked him for his efforts.
