Man City V Man United: Match Preview, Team News And Betting Prediction

Manchester City will host their neighbors Manchester United in the second-leg of their Carabao Cup semifinal clash at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.

City are the defending champions and will be looking to make it three straight league cup finals in a row. Pep Guardiola’s side won the first leg 3-1 at Old Trafford meaning a draw will be enough to take them to Wembley for the final.

United, on the other hand, needs to score at least twice and will be buoyed by the fact that they have already beaten Manchester City at the Etihad this season. They put six past Tranmere in the FA Cup last Sunday but City is a different beast altogether.

Team News

Having picked up knocks at the weekend, Joao Cancelo and Mahrez will be assessed before Guardiola finalizes his squad.

With both players starting versus Fulham, however, the pair could each find themselves among the replacements, with Kyle Walker and Raheem Sterling in line to return.

Benjamin Mendy or Oleksandr Zinchenko will replace Angelino at left-back, while John Stones could partner Fernandinho in the center of the backline after coming off the bench against Fulham.

United boss Solskjaer has less room to manoeuvre, with Paul Pogba and Rashford among six players who remain on the sidelines.

Due to their need for goals, Mason Greenwood could line up on the right, with Daniel James switching over to the left flank.

Juan Mata could get the nod over Jesse Lingard and Pereira in front of Nemanja Matic and Fred.

Betting Tip

The Manchester Derby rarely disappoints in terms of goals which is why it would be wise to back both teams to score @1.78
