They further went ahead and dressed him up as a Somali Muslim requesting him not to retire from active politics as his second term as Mombasa Governor comes to an end in 2022.

Joho had earlier on warned Ruto-allied leaders against interfering with the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) forum.

Speaking at the Tononoka grounds in Mombasa on Friday where the meeting was expected to be held, Joho sent a stern warning to anyone seeking to disrupt the meeting.

“Let them be made aware that they can joke anywhere else in the country but it shall not be in Mombasa,” he remarked.

Tanga Tanga members seemed to have heeded the advice as Murkomen appeared to have stolen the show after declaring full support for the BBI.

Speaking at the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rally at the Mama Ngina grounds in Mombasa, Murkomen changed tune when he said he supports calls for a referendum.

He was invited to speak by Governor Hassan Joho, who put him on the spot, on whether he supports or rejects calls for a referendum. To which he said, yes.

Murkomen said time is ripe for a vote that would create Prime Minister and Deputy PM posts.

He added that the Rift Valley region is the hub of devolution. His statement shocked many, including Siaya Senator James Orengo, who said miracles are happening on the podium.

Orengo described Murkomen as wise.
