Moses Kuria Reveals Team Tangatanga’s Secret Plan for Mombasa BBI Rally

Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, on Thursday revealed details on the agenda of DP William Ruto’s allies for Saturday’s BBI consultative forum in Mombasa.

Contrary to the expectations of a majority of Kenyans, Kuria promised that the Tangatanga faction would be on their best behaviour, and would not attempt to create chaos during the meeting.

Speaking on KTN News’ Morning Express show, the legislator revealed that the anti-BBI crusade would, instead of demanding opportunities to address the public and sell their ideologies, sit quietly, and observe the proceedings of the event.

The fiery MP added that Ruto’s men simply wanted to gain a deeper insight into the pro-BBI school of thought, to see if there was something special they (Tangatanga) had been missing in the whole BBI issue.

Tangatanga politicians made the surprise declaration that they would be active participants of ODM leader Raila Odinga’s BBI consultative meetings on Tuesday, creating a wave of confusion among Kenyans, since the same camp had previously castigated the planned countrywide tour.

ODM and Jubilee leaders supporting the BBI process had read malice into this decision, announced by Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen.

This was an issue pointed out by Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, during a press conference on Wednesday, threatening that necessary measures would be instituted to neutralize any disruption attempts.

The same was reiterated by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, who also appeared in the Thursday morning TV interview alongside Kuria and ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna.

According to Malala, who will play the master of ceremony role on Saturday, Tangatanga leaders’ sudden interest in joining BBI rallies was not genuine, and the rally organizers would stay prepared to counter any planned mayhem.

Kuria, in response, warned that the public would be watching to see how DP Ruto’s allies would be treated during the event, suggesting that the same treatment would be reciprocated when the BBI team landed in Central Kenya.
