Scores of Thika Road passengers had a brush with death on Wednesday, after a Kenya Mpya bus in which they were commuting was involved in a grisly collision with a lorry at Juja.
Photos and videos from the accident scene show the two vehicles badly damaged, with the lorry appearing to have suffered the heaviest impact, with part of its side completely torn off.

No casualties were reported from the crash, which re-ignited criticism towards the bus company over the number of accidents reported involving their recklessly driven fleet.
Eyewitnesses said that a roadside curb prevented the bus driver, who was among those seriously injured, from giving way to the lorry, a situation which ended up in the near-head-on-collision.
The lorry was ferrying construction stones at the time of the crash.
