It’s Doable! FKF President, Kenyans React to World Cup Draw

Kenyans believe that Harambee Stars has a high chance of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after Tuesday night draw at The Nile Ritz-Carlton in Cairo, Egypt

Kenya landed in group E alongside Mali, and two East Africa rivals Uganda and Rwanda. All the four sides will be fighting to top the group in order to move to the final qualification phase where ten teams will be fighting for the five world cup slots.
On paper, it’s a tricky group with teams of nearly the same strength. Mali hasn’t been at their best in recent years and Kenya beating them is not too far-fetched.

Kenya and rivals Uganda played to a one-all draw in a friendly match last year and both sides can be said to be of the same strength. Rwanda hasn’t qualified for any major event for years and only took part in 2016 CHAN as the host nation.
This leaves the group-wide open and coach Francis Kimanzi wouldn’t have asked for a better group as with proper planning and execution, Stars can give their rivals a good fight.
Winning the group will see Kenya qualify for the final round where they will be paired against another table-topping nation where the aggregate winner of the two-legged tie will make it to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

FKF President Nick Mwendwa believes the task ahead is doable.
“Doable Can do. Let’s do it stars !, ” Mwendwa tweeted.

Kenyans on social media too believe Kimanzi’s boys can make it out of the group as table toppers.
