Good morning,
Politicians who attended the Kakamega BBI rally last weekend were each paid Ksh100,000 as facilitation fee. Everyone else who attended the meeting received Ksh 1000. This is according to Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen.
The money is partly the reason why Tanga Tanga members have vowed to attend the next BBI rallies, and where necessary take charge.
As the BBI rally was going on in Kakamega, parents in the nearby Mumias East Constituency were waiting for their children to come back home from school by swimming across a flooded river.
According to reports on local media, the pupils from Petros Primary School have to swim across River Lusumu when going to school and back because a makeshift bridge they were using was washed away in December. They have to do this without their uniform and holding their books on their heads so that they don’t get wet.
We want to built bridges towards 2022 elections but we are not ready to construct a simple bridge to enable kids get to school. Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya is believed to be one of the most performing county bosses, in fact he wants to be president owing to his ‘impeccable’ development record.
In Murkomen’s Elgeyo Marakwet County, at least three people have died from a Malaria outbreak. Seriously? Malaria killing Kenyans in 2020? We hope BBI will fix this.
