Ruto Beats Raila in Latest Presidential Poll

Deputy President William Ruto edged out ODM leader Raila Odinga in the latest Presidential poll.

Ruto, who is a man under siege, emerged as the one who would take the top seat after the culmination of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s second and final term.

The unofficial poll conducted by Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi on Twitter, disclosed that the second in command would tramp Raila by a huge margin.

Based on the exercise, DP Ruto would get 52.4 per cent of the votes with the ‘Chungwa’ party leader in second place with 35.4 per cent while Uhuru would be a distant third with 12.3 per cent.

The poll which is yet to close gave the score based on the 23,410 votes cast at the time of publishing the article.

The small gesture, however, drew mixed reactions from netizens who participated.

A section noted that the percentage Uhuru got indicated the level of dissatisfaction from citizens.

Njiru Ken stated, “We are fighting dynasties here…Uhuru is just crap after me voting him twice yeye ni kushinda amesema what do you want me do?? No idea of what is happening..then he brings us BBI nonsense.i can say this for free uhuru is unpopular in our backyard Mt Kenya region.”

Metet Ambrose noted, “If William Ruto won’t win this poll,I promise to deactivate my account.”

Another netizen identified as Kimati Edwin remarked,”None of the above.”

Deathstroke highlighted, “Kumira Kumira people messed us up, now these other urchins want to mess us up with Ruto! What will Ruto do in presidency that he can’t do right now as a Deputy president???? Some of you were born Fools!”

Hezbon Mureithi uttered, “You’ve also joined Githeri Media Bandwagon in fooling Kenyans that we only have Uhuru, Raila and Ruto as our Options I never thought you could stoop this low.”

Last Saturday during a BBI rally at Bhukungu Stadium in Kakamega, Raila articulated that it was not a must for him to be president.

He insisted that the initiative process with President Uhuru Kenyatta, was aimed at improving the country and not his personal ambitions.

The veteran leader blasted the anti-BBI group and expressed that they could not fight an idea that was already in motion.
