Gor Mahia has completed the signing of Kibera Black Stars and Kenya u17 midfielder Nicholas Omondi on a long-term deal.
The central midfielder joins the Kenyan Premier League giants six months after he rejoined Kibera Black Stars from Kariobangi Sharks, a side he joined in June 2019 from KBS.
Omondi is expected to fill the void left by Tobias Otieno who quit the club for US side, Union Omaha. Known for his industriousness, tough tackling and long-range passing, the youngster will be hoping to break into the first team soon enough.
He becomes Gor Mahia’s fourth signing after Juma Balinya who joined the club from Yanga, Clinton Okoth from Migori Youth and Ghanaian Jackson Owusu.
Gor has already lost a number of key players due to a lack of funds. Yipke Gnamien moved to Yanga while Francis Afriyie joined Township Rollers in Botswana.
