Deeney Misses Penalty As Watford Hold Spurs In A Dull Encounter

Jose Mourinho continued with his woeful run of form as Tottenham Hotspur boss when his side was held to a barren draw by Watford at Vicarage road.

With just one win in their last five matches, Spurs needed a win for confidence but they never looked like scoring in the match. Hueng Min Son was the most dangerous player for Spurs but he could not inspire his team past a resolute Watford backline.

The home side has a chance to open the scoring when they were awarded a penalty in the second-half following a handball in the box from a Gerard Delofeu goal bund shot.

The skipper Tro Deeney stepped up but his tame effort was well-saved by Gazzaniga in the Spurs goal. Spurs upped the tempo and should have scored in the final minute of added time but Watford cleared the ball off the line.

The result leaves Spurs 7th on the log with 31 points while Watford is sixteen with 22 points from the first 23 matches.
