Real Madrid will welcome Sevilla to the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday as Laliga resumes after a one week break where teams played in the Copa Del Rey.

Fresh from winning the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, Coach Zinedine Zidane will be looking to pick a home win against Sevilla in order to keep pace with joint league leaders Barcelona who face Granada at home on Sunday.

Real Madrid have suffered just one defeat in the league this season which came against Real Mallorca in October. Sevilla, on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last four matches.

The two teams faced off Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in the first leg in September where Madrid managed to pick a vital 1-0 away win. Karim Benzema struck the only goal of the match in the 64th minute.

Team news

Following his sending off last Sunday against Atletico Madrid in the Super Cup final Federico Valverde will sit out of the clash through suspension. Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard remain long-term absentees. Karim Benzema and Luka Jovic remain doubtful for the clash.

For Sevilla, Lucas Ocampos and Joan Jordan will miss the match through suspension and injury respectively. Javier Hernandez is also a doubt with the former Manchester United an expected to leave the club this January.
