Manchester United captain is set to complete a move to Italian giants, Inter Milan after the two clubs struck a deal on Thursday night, a move that will see Young end his nine-year association with the Red Devils.
The former England international has seen his playtime largely reduced this season. He has made 18 appearances across all competitions, ten of them as a starter while the rest have been substitute appearances.
Inter boss Antonio Conte is a huge admirer of the versatile winger who in recent years has been playing as a fullback for United. Conte tried to sign Young for Chelsea in 2017 but the transfer failed to materialize.
Conte has finally managed to get his man, albeit this time for Inter after United agreed to sell the 34-year old for a reported fee of around 1.5 million pounds plus add ons depending on he faires on in Milan.
Young joined United from Aston Villa and went on to make 261 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 18 goals in the process. His best outing for the club was probably during the 8-2 demolition of Arsenal at Old Trafford where he scored two stunners and set up others for his teammates.
He was named United captain at the start of the season when Antonio Valencia left the club upon the expiry of his contract with United. Young has often been praised for his professionalism and leadership in the dressing room.
With United struggling in the league, he has of come under fire from the supporters who wanted him out of the club. At Inter he will reunite with his former teammates Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez who moved to Milan last Summer.
