Moneybags Wazito Rope in Young Pair

Kenyan Premier League side, Wazito FC have completed the signing of two more young players as they continue to beef up their playing unit ahead of a rigorous second leg.

The team has been struggling in the league this season and has managed just 11 points in 17 league outings highlighting the importance of reinforcements.

The club has now added two more faces in their playing unit. The two are Kenya U20 right-back Alvin ‘Chicha’ Ochieng who joins the club from Kisumu All-Stars and Roland Ashimotoa, a young central defender who has been signed from Kakamega High School.

Club CEO Dennis Gicheru has confirmed their arrival whilst revealing that the players impressed Coach Stewart Hall during a trial period with the team.

“I want to welcome Chicha and Roland to the team. They are two young quality players and they definitely make us stronger. They trained with the team for a couple of days under the watchful eye of our head coach. He was impressed and he Okayed their signing,” CEO Dennis Gicheru stated.

Gicheru also stated that the team is keen on bringing in young players into the squad. He challenged the pair to fight for places in the first team.

“As a team, we are not only thinking about the present but also, the future and that’s why we are trying to get the best young players around. My message to them is that they should not shy off, they should compete for a place in the squad, they have an equal chance of being starters in the team,” he added.

Their arrival brings the number of new faces at Wazito to 7. The other new players are Kennedy Owino, Dennis Ng’ang’a, Dennis Sikhayi, Whyvone Isuza, and Issifou Bourhana.
