1 Lie Ruto Has Been Telling Kenyans All Along – Jirongo Reveals

Deputy President William Ruto has been feeding Kenyans lies, by claiming that he was part of the Youth for KANU (YK92) movement, former presidential aspirant Cyrus Jirongo alleges.

Speaking to KTN‘s Tony Gachoka on Point Blank, Jirongo reminisced that he became acquainted with the deputy head of state around the 1992 General Election, but not as a political counterpart.

The former Lugari MP noted that, contrary to what Kenyans believe, Ruto was not among the young citizens who drummed up support for retired president Daniel Moi, at the beginning of Kenya’s multi-partisanship system.

Jirongo said that the DP only came into contact with the popular nineties movement by hanging around KANU leaders, in a bid to secure business opportunities, around the campaign period.

”William Ruto was never part of Youth for KANU ’92. William Ruto was one of the young men who spent their time at the KICC at the youth and women office,” he remarked.

”I came to know William Ruto properly after elections, in 1993,” the former YK92 boss stated.

The closest Ruto came to YK92, he revealed, was when he was awarded a tender to supply 100,000 T-shirts.

This was a contract that the DP failed to honour, instead, conning the movement of Ksh1 million.

According to Jirongo, Ruto, with the assistance of wayward officers in the YK92 office, supplied only 10,000 garments out of the agreed 100,000, by delivering the same T-shirts over and over again ten times.

Ruto’s link to YK92 was former Cabinet, and Parliament member, Julia Ojiambo, he added.
