Senate Majority Leader and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has called for inclusivity in government appointments following the latest cabinet reshuffle.
Taking to Twitter, Murkomen said that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s 2020 government appointments and re-organization should be supported in the context of inclusivity.
“President Kenyatta’s 2020 “Intentions”, appointments and reorganization of government must be supported in the context of what he said in his speech thus:” The BBI process is inclusive, it should spell the end of ethnic majoritarianism.” Murkomen wrote on Twitter.
He added that, “it will be the end of winner-take-all politics.”

Murkomen had earlier congratulated one of the appointee, Linah Kilimo, who was appointed as CAS Agriculture and Cooperatives, saying that she had given her county a reason to smile.
“On behalf of the people of Elgeyo Marakwet County, I Congratulate Hon. Linah Kilimo on her appointment as CAS Agriculture & Cooperatives. Godspeed, as you serve the Republic”, tweeted Murkomen.

Mwangi Kiunjuri was among those who were sent packing. He was replaced with trade and industrialization CS Peter Munya.
Suspended Treasury CS Henry Rotich was also sacked and replaced with Ukur Yattani who was serving in an acting capacity.
Kiunjuri’s sacking comes weeks after he expressed allegiance to Deputy President William Ruto.
