Hours after being kicked out of the cabinet by President Uhuru Kenyatta, former Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri has found solace in Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.
While meeting the ousted CS in an undisclosed location, Moses Kuria, who is also one of the key leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto’s camp, stated that Kiunjuri’s dismissal was expected and that Kenya had started moving on.
And while addressing a press conference at Serena Hotel shortly after he was axed, Kiunjuri, who seemed undeterred, fired back stating that the decision to fire him was something he had foreseen and that it didn’t shock him.
Instead, Kiunjuri expressed his gratitude to the president, saying he was at least relieved from the role that had given him a torrid time of humiliation in agriculture docket.
The Ruto allied leader insisted that he had given his best at the ministry and that he was not regretting every bit of it.
“The President’s decision has not surprised me at all… I thank God, I now feel relieved. I had endured a lot of humiliation and only God and my family know this. I have given my best in this assignment and I leave with my head high up,” stated Kiunjuri.

The tough-talking CS was replaced by immediate former Trade and Industrialization CS Peter Munya.
His dismissal comes at a time leaders allied to Ruto’s camp have come out guns blazing following what they term as a well-calculated move by the government to frustrate William Ruto’s political camp.
On Friday, Moses Kuria was arrested and forced to spend a night at police cells after he was accused of assaulting a woman at the Royal Media Services premises in December last year.
Kuria’s friends led by Kandara MP Alice Wahome were later teargassed and chased away after they stormed the police station demanding for the immediate release of their colleague.
Here are some of the comments from Mwangi Kiunjuri’s friends comforting him after the sacking;

However, there were those who took time to criticize Kiunjuri, accusing him of mismanaging the ministry.
Mwangi Kiunjuri soon will step over to Tangatanga and rebrand as a reformer and hustler even after he collapsed the entire Maize industry, Coffee and Tea all across Nyanza, Rift Valley and Central. People will cheer him as their fellow hustler. Eti Ma-sufferers. pic.twitter.com/it6udnqq4V
