‘I Can See Civil War Brewing’- Ahmednasir Warns Uhuru and Ruto

Constitutional Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has warned President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto over the possibility of the country tearing apart if the standoff between them is not resolved.

Taking to social media on Tuesday to air his perspective on an alleged misunderstanding between the two leaders of the Jubilee Party, Ahmednasir said that their mutual hatred risked the well being of the nation.

“Uhuru & Ruto must find a solution to their MUTUAL HATRED. Their chemistry is gone. But they were elected not to love one another.

“Kenyans are grossly underestimating the consequences of a President & his Deputy OPENLY at war…I can see a CIVIL WAR BREWING…a country going ASUNDER,” tweeted the Lawyer.

The remarks by the Lawyer comes in the wake of simmering sibling rivalry within the Jubilee Party pitting Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke political factions.

The two factions have been attacking one another with Tanga Tanga standing in solidarity with DP Ruto while Kieleweke claiming to represent the position of President Uhuru.

The two have been trading blows at political factions, prompting political pundits to suggest that the ruling party is on its deathbed.

On Monday, leaders allied to Kieleweke led by Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege and Nominated MP Maina Kamanda slammed the DP  for opposing the president.

The leaders urged Ruto to resign citing irreconcilable differences with his boss as the reason why their marriage was no longer tenable.

Kieleweke, which has been associating itself with both Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga, has been rooting for a referendum through the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) course while Tanga Tanga has remained adamant that referendum is not only unnecessary but also a waste of resources.

Despite DP Ruto claimed to be in support of the initiative, he has come under rabid criticism from a section of ODM and Kielewe leaders who have accused him of hypocrisy.

A day after the Kieleweke team together with the ODM party held its first BBI consultative meeting in Kisii, the DP accused them of using public funds to chart 2022 succession politics.

Ruto added that if the BBI process is about crafting the 2022 matrix then he and his team will have no option but to abandon the initiative.

Nonetheless, President Uhuru on Monday proved his commitment towards the initiative by gazetting the BBI team thus giving them a legal nod to commence their work.
