Ngunjiri Wambugu Slams DP Ruto For Having Double Standards on Matters BBI

Nyeri Town MP, Ngunjiri Wambugu on Saturday, criticized Deputy President William Ruto for having double standards when it came to handling matters involving the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

The DP on Friday had attacked the ongoing Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) sensitization drive led by Uhuru and Raila in different parts of the country citing waste of public resources in the process.

Ruto held a parallel meeting in Vihiga county while Raila and other leaders including CS Fred Matiang’ i were in Kisii to kick off the first BBI forum.

He addressed the residents faulting the BBI campaigns while at the same time insisting that no one was opposed to the BBI.

A move that received heavy condemnation from the Nyeri legislator.

“We aren’t idiots…campaigning against the BBI is not a waste of money. But it is a waste of money to campaigns for it.”

Ngunjiri said in a Facebook post. He also reminded the DP of how he allegedly spent over 18 months in a disinformation campaign about BBI, telling Kenyans how the process would not go anywhere.

“Now you want to throw tantrums because others have started undoing the damage you did to an extremely important process?”He questioned further.

Wambugu also intimated to the DP that 2020 was going to be a difficult year for him unless he changes.

ODM Party leader, Raila Odinga on Friday, hinted to the public that a referendum was going to be held before June 2020.

He also urged leaders to sell BBI at the grassroots level.
