Mohammed Ali Suprises Kenyans with His Fluent Kikuyu Dialect

Nyali Member of Paliarment Mohammed Ali on Friday surprised Kenyans with his mastery of Kikuyu vernacular.

This after the former investigative journalist shared a video of him fluently addressing the media in Kikuyu vernacular following the arrest of Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria.

Flanked by colleagues allied to the Tanga Tanga formation in the Jubilee Party, the former Jicho Pevu journalist claimed that Moses Kuria was being harassed for his stance on the Building Building Initiative (BBI) report.

“Moses Kuria was never arrested for allegedly beating up a woman, he was arrested for speaking about the BBI. He tried to tell the government to prioritise coffee, milk and other urgent matters affecting the country,” Moha said.

His newly found mother-tongue amused a section of his followers online, bearing the fact that he is from Mombasa.

Here is how some of some his followers reacted to his post:

“Bro am kikuyu n you don’t know happy i am to hear speak perfect kyuk….n also umepasha this pple in government who are also kikuyu who think services are a favor,” a Twitter user identified as DJ George commented.

“Very eloquent in Gikuyu. Now please can someone Tag mr Loan-ado uhuru.” Another named Bonnie commented.

“The old generation of Kikuyus who were brainwashed is quickly fading away! This young generation is really woke! We need people who are addressing real issues not BBI! People are losing jobs, corruption is strangling the economy, high cost of living! Tumechoka,” Another user named J. Mathenge commented.

Some however, bashed the legislator accusing him of greed.

“We ni bure everything you stand for you water down coz of greed, you dont have principle at all, bure kabisa.” Kenneth Otieno said.

“Whoever cursed Kenya parliament alitukosea Sana…unatuma youthful, visionary leader uko after several months amekuwa worse than the old generation,” Israel Wisdom commented.

This wasn’t the first time the Nyali legislator showcased his multilingual skills.

On June 3, 2019, the Nyali legislator stunned worshipers at St Martins ACK Kahawa Wendani Church when he rose to speak and introduced himself in the dialect.

When he was three months old, Moha’s family moved to Thika, where he spent a better part of his early life.

He grew up in Thika’s Kiandutu slums and attended Thika Muslim Primary School and later moved to Nakuru for his O Levels.
