Kenyans have today been saddened by the demise of Senior K24 news anchor Anjlee Gadhvi who battled cancer for years.
Apart from her outstanding achievements in the media industry, the jovial journalist also played a major role in creating cancer awareness in the country.
In 2017, Gadhvi shared an emotional tribute to NTV presenter Janet Kanini who lost her battle to cancer.
The presenter described Kanini as a brave cancer soldier and also lauded the late journalist for her efforts in fighting for specialized treatments for cancer patients. Gadhvi also admitted that Kanini’s death took a toll on her because they had a shared pain.
“We were diagnosed with cancer almost at the same time, we fought together… raised money to seek specialised treatment at the same time… we were declared cancer-free at the same time! Its just that you decided to leave me here. But I know your free now.” She wrote in her post
According to Gadhvi, their cancer journey taught them a lot including living life to the fullest.
Apart from Gadhvi and Kanini other personalities who lost battles with cancer include; Bob Collymore, Ken Okoth and Joyce Laboso.
