BBI Consultative Meeting Lands Governor Ongwae in Hot Soup

Kisii County governor James Ongwae on Thursday morning found himself on a chopping board with angry Kenyans calling for his arrest.

This is after the county chief chaired a meeting of his colleague Governors from Nyanza region ahead of the BBI consultative meeting to be held on January 10, 2020 in Kisii.

It is being alleged that the planned BBI meeting will cost Ksh 18 million.

This has made Kenyans to go irate on him, exposing his failures in the county.

Some Kenyans argue that it is not logical for governor Ongwae and nyanza county governors to sit down and discuss BBI which most leaders support and spend close to Ksh 20 million.

A series of exposes has been unleashed upon the governor, with corruption taking the centre stage.

Failed development projects is also the talk, with some Kenyans alleging that Ongwae failed to move the Kisii dumpsite even after court orders and the county assembly allocating over Ksh .200 million for an alternative site.

Some are arguing that the county government of Kisii has not been delivering as promised.

Governor Ongwae has been on the radar of detectives from the DCI and EACC for months now over allegations of embezzlement of county funds through misappropriation and false procurement at the County.

South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanous Osoro has joined these Kenyans in condemning the planned BBI meeting and calling for the arrest of Ongwae.

Here are some of the reactions from irate Kenyans.
