New Developments At Spurs Boost Victor Wanyama‛s Chances Of Staying

Well it appears Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama may still have a career at English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. Last summer, Wanyama came very close to exiting the club and had even agreed on personal terms with Club Brugge before the move broke down at the last hurdle.

It was expected that Wanyama would finally move in the January transfer window but asudden change of events could see him finish the season at Spurs.

French midfielder Mousa Sissoko underwent surgery earlier this week and will be out until April. His absence leaves Spurs with only three fit central midfielders in Eric Dier, Harry Winks, and Victor Wanyama. The clubs record signing Tanguy Ndombele is still out with a hamstring injury and has barely featured under new boss Jose Mourinho.

Christian Eriksen’s future is also up in the air with the midfielder said to be angling for a move away to Inter Milan this month. This means that Spurs cannot afford to let Wanyama leave without bringing in a cover which is very hard to find in the winter window.

Wanyama may not have the best of fitness records at Spurs but his availability comes at the right time for a team desperately in need of fit bodies.

Spurs have a tough run of fixtures in the coming weeks starting with the visit of unbeaten Liverpool this Saturday. The team has won just once in their last five matches.
