Players To watch As KCB Host Sofapaka On Wednesday

The Kenya Premier League takes center stage this midweek with all teams set to be in action. Two high scoring teams face each other on Wednesday when Zedekiah Otienos KCB host John Barazas Sofapaka at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Below are four players to keep a close eye on during the clash.

Eli Asieche

The forward is Sofapaka’s best bet for goals. His opener against Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday took his tally for the season to six and is Batoto Ba Mungu’s highest scorer in the league.

Quick and fast both with and without the ball, Asieche makes a nuisance of himself to defenders and is a nightmare to defend against.

Enock Agwanda

The former Gor Mahia striker is the main man at KCB. Agwandas bulky build makes him hard to take the ball off but that is not all he has to his game.

He is an excellent set-piece taker as demonstrated in his second-half penalty that leveled matters against Mathare United last time out. Also, he is the leagues best thrower of the ball.

Stephen Waruru

The 2010 Kenya Premier League player of the year may have lost the pace that made opponents shiver with fear but he still has the deadly eye for goal that made him top scorer nine years ago.

At KCB, Waruru mainly plays as a winger which limits his goals scoring chances but on the flip side, he does put in lots of good crosses for the likes of Agwanda to help themselves on.

Kepha Aswani

Yet another veteran striker with bags of experience in the Kenyan top flight. Aswani brilliantly brings others into play with his back to goal play and is one of the best headers of the ball at Sofapaka.

Definitely on to watch.
