Miguna Reveals More Details on His Disrupted Trip to Kenya

Hours after his trip to Kenya was cut short at Frankfurt TXL Airport in Germany, vocal lawyer Miguna Miguna has broken his silence over what exactly happened.

Through his social media accounts, the stranded Miguna revealed that the office of the president had threatened that plane carrying Miguna would be denied landing rights at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport if the airline goes against the directive.

He further revealed that the red alert directive was issued on Monday evening shortly after the court ordered the government to allow Miguna into the country without any restrictions.

“The Office of the President issued a RED ALERT to Lufthansa last evening threatening to deny landing rights to the airline if it carried me to Kenya or any other African country. It was issued AFTER the Court Orders by Justice Korir. I’m still at the TXL airport in Berlin,” read Miguna’s tweet.

He further revealed that Lufthansa company had stated that it was ready to transport him to Kenya when the Red Alert has been formally cancelled or withdrawn by the Government of Kenya.

“But as of now, despite lies peddled via social media and press statements, the Red Alert has not been cancelled,” read part of his tweet.

Despite this, Miguna remained optimistic saying he was exhausting all options to make sure his trip back to Kenya his honoured.

While urging his supporters to remain focused, Miguna told them to mobilize for a huge homecoming as one way of ashaming the regime.

“I’m exploring all my options. I’ll communicate when and how I will travel to Kenya later today or tomorrow. Meanwhile, I urge all my supporters, freedom fighters and genuine human rights defenders to remain focused and unbowed. Mobilize for a huge homecoming to shame the despots,” continued his post.

Here is more of Miguna’s statement on the same;

I forwarned everyone yesterday not to believe the obvious damage control press statement, yesterday. Its aim was just to distract the gullible Kenyan media from reporting the contents of Justice Korir’s court Orders that was issued yesterday.

Never, ever believe anything from the regime unless it is an official letter stating that it has cancelled the red alert stopping me from entering Kenya. Don’t believe anything they say until they issue me with a valid Kenyan passport. They are still referring to me as a “Canadian.” A press statement means nothing. It has no legal weight. Exactly what I cautioned everyone about yesterday!!

In other words, they continue to defy and disobey all the court orders!
