A pastor in Kiembeni, Kisauni on Sunday, January 5, stabbed his wife several times before committing suicide during church service.
According to witnesses the pastor identified as Elisha Misiko committed the heinous act at the pulpit of their church before slitting his own throat.

Confirming the incident, Kisauni Sub-County Police Commander Julius Kiragu said that the pastor stabbed his wife in the back inflicting severe injuries on her.
Kiragu added that the woman died at the Coast General Hospital where she was rushed for treatment.
Her husband however died instantly and his body moved to the mortuary in the same facility.
The couple had a property ownership row in which the pastor had accused his wife of attempting to take over his church [Ground for God’s Gospel 3G Ministries].
The pastor left behind a 17-page suicide note in which he detailed their marital troubles.
It is said that he reported the matter at the Kiembeni Police Station several times.
