Sifuna Backs Raila’s Call For DP Ruto to Step Aside Over Corruption

ODM’s Party Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna on Sunday echoed words of his party leader Raila Odinga to have Deputy President William Ruto step aside as the country’s second in command over corruption allegations.
Sifuna insisted that DP Ruto acquired a habit of stealing once he parted ways with Odinga.
                                           ODM Party Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna
“Habit is acquired. No one is born a thief. Thieving is an acquired habit. So it is quite possible you were a good/clean boy when you were “supporting others” but grew up into a thieving man.”
Sifuna was responding to remarks made by Ruto to Odinga on Sunday, stating that he should stop engaging in con artistry.
“Space/time for such deceit/conmamship is over; we are wiser. Be leaders. Be truthful.Wacha utapeli (sic),” DP Ruto’s tweet read in part.
Ruto had even questioned the integrity of the former Premier on the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) that was a brainchild of him and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The two leaders(Ruto and Odinga)have been engaged in a vicious war of words especially since the DP is so adamant on fulfilling his dreams of becoming the next President of Kenya in the upcoming 2022 elections.

This has also caused a rift among Kikuyu elders who have vowed to support Ruto’s presidential bid come 2022.

Leaders of the Gikuyu Cultural Association, led by national chairman Ndung’u wa Gaithuma, complained about a visit by some Kikuyu elders to DP Ruto’s Sugoi home during Christmas festivities.

They warned members who desecrated their traditions would be summoned and punished.
