2020 is almost here guys and it’s time to start scribbling your New Year Resolutions but you need to beware of cons this coming 2020.

Some times you wonder if people are trained to con because the con stories are normally on another level.

Every day there is a new way of conning that has been invented.  They have come up with another trick! A message has been going round saying that you need to be careful when writing dates for this coming year. It’s instructing Kenyan citizens to write dates in the normal full format which is 31/ol/2020.

It should not be written as 31/01/20 because anyone can change it to 31/01/2000 or 31/01/2019 or 31/01/2099 or write in between any year of their convenience by adding two digits at the end. Once it’s changed you can do nothing about it.

Here is the message;

Friends, while writing a date in the upcoming year 2020, we should write that in its full format, e.g. 31/01/2020 and not as 31/01/20, bcoz anyone can change it to 31/01/2000 or 31/01/2019 or 31/01/2099 or in between any year to his/her convenience, just by adding last two digits to it.
This problem will persist only this year. So be cautious about this.
Don’t write and also don’t accept it while receiving any documents.”
