Alli Seals Come-back Win For Tottenham Against Brighton

  1. Tottenham came from a goal down to beat Brighton and Hove 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspurs stadium on Thursday afternoon.

Adam Webster gave Brighton the lead in the 37th minute against the run of play after being the second best team for the better part of the first stanza.

Harry Kane leveled the matters eight minutes into the second half. Dele Alli then sealed the win for Spurs in the 72nd minute with a wonder strike.

Tottenham started the match strongly in search of an early breakthrough. Ryan Ssesegnon, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane had chances early on which they failed to utilize as Brighton started the game on a defensive mode.

Brighton slowly grew into the game and their first attempt came through Aaron Mooy in the 22nd minute but the Australian’s shot was blocked by Spurs defenders.

Harry Kane thought he had opened the scoring for the north Londoners just after the half hour mark but his strike was chalked off for offside after VAR reviews.

Moments later, the visitors went ahead through Adam Webster who rose high to head home a Pascal Gross cross. Brighton took a goal advantage to the break.

Spurs got to a dream second half start when Harry Kane found the back of the net. Mathew Ryan saved his initial effort but he reacted quick to bundle home on the rebound.

Spurs continued knocking at Brighton goal area in search of more goals. Moura, Kane and Ssesegnon all came close to getting a second for the hosts on several occasions.

Their persistent pressure finally paid off in the 72nd minute when Dele Ali scored a worldie. The England forward was set up by Sergie Aurier and he beat Ryan with a wonder strike.

Tottenham created more chances but they couldn’t find a way past Ryan on Brighton goal.
