Simple Pork Ribs Recipe to Try Out This Holiday

The way to the heart of anyone (man or woman) is through the stomach.

Being a time when families are gathered together in celebration, what would be better than trying out a new recipe.

So why don’t you wow your partner or loved ones and find your way to his or her heart with any of the amazing and delicious pork ribs recipes?

The ingredients here are simple:

  • 1 Kg pork spare ribs
  • 2-inch ginger
  • 5 Cloves garlic
  • 2 medium-size red onion
  • Dania
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 125 ml light soy sauce
  • 125 ml white vinegar
  • 1-litre water

Follow the steps below:

 

  • Place a large pan (if you don’t have a large pan use a wide sufuria) putit on high heat and add a few tablespoons of oil. Swirl this to oil every bit of the bottom of the pan.

  • Let this heat up until it starts to make smoke then carefully place the ribs on the pan or your sufuria with the fleshly part down (first separate each rib then cut extra fleshy parts into bite-size pieces). Do not overcrowd the pan.

  • Leave these ribs sear on high heat undistributed until they get a nice brown colour on the bottom side then turns. Keep turning until all sides have acquired a rich brown colour.

  • Now add the other pieces and immediately add in the soy sauce mixture we prepare (mix the sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, crushed ginger and garlic, black pepper, the chilli powder or fresh chillies combine this until the sugar dissolves)

  • Proceed to add in the water and the chopped onions. if your pan is not big enough you can add half the water then as soon as it dries you add the rest. Let it boil for about 15 min. Lower the heat to medium-low and cover.

  • Cook this for the next one hour turning the pieces every 20 minutes. After 1 hr the pieces will be thickened completely and beautiful coats the ribs.

  • Ugali and kachumbari
