Man City Star Keen on Quitting Club in January

Manchester City could lose Portuguese defender Joao Cancelo this January with Valencia and Bayern Munich both interested in the right-back.

Cancelo moved to the Etihad five months ago from Juventus but has failed to oust Kyle Walker from right-back position featuring mainly in League Cup and dead-rubber UEFA Champions League matches.

He has reportedly got fed up by the limited playtime he is getting and wants out of the club in January with Bayern and his former club Valencia ready to swoop for the youngster.

Valencia wants to sign him on an initial loan deal before making the move permanent in the summer while Bayern Munich wants to outrightly buy him.

Reports, however, indicate that City are not keen on letting the defender leave without getting a replacement and he may have to wait until the summer if he is to exit the Etihad in search of more playtime.

Meanwhile, City are set to lose their assistant coach Mikel Arteta to Arsenal. The Spanish tactician has agreed to a deal to return to the Emirates as head coach following Unai Emery’s sacking. He faces a huge task of turning the Gunners’ season around. The team has won just one of its last 11 matches in all competitions.
