English Giants Trailing Nigerian Striker

English trio of Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham are reportedly monitoring Lille striker Victor Osimhen with a view of making a move in January.

The Nigerian international has been in fine form for the Ligue 1 side this season attracting interest from several clubs across Europe including the English trio.

The 20-year old has been in scintillating form this campaign netting nine goals in 17 league matches and setting up four others for his teammates. He also scored twice in the UEFA Champions where his team exited the competition in the group stage.

Reports in France indicate that the three clubs have made contact with the player and his club expressing their interest in the speedy forward. The player is however said to be keen on remaining in France until the end of the current season.

The striker will however not come cheap with Lille keen to make a kill out of his sale. He could cost in the region of 50 million pounds an amount the three clubs are willing to part with.

Liverpool are looking for a backup striker with Sadio Mane, Mohammed Salah and Roberto Firmino all assured starters. Jose Mourinho, on the other hand, is keen on getting a forward who will support Harry Kane while Chelsea coach Frank Lampard had made it clear that he is keen on bolstering his forward line with Olivier Giroud keen on leaving the club in January to ensure that he is part of France’s Euro 2020 team.
