Sarah Cohen Goes After DCI, Donald Trump Impeached & Raila Distances Himself From PM Post

Good morning,

When Sharon Chepkoech received her KCPE results in 2015, she must have been devasted. With a paltry 183 marks, she had no future in a society that is obsessed with grades over anything else.

But unlike other candidates who lost hope, Sharon decided to pursue her secondary education at little known Saire Secondary School. Prior to sitting for this year’s KCSE exams, Sharon’s family was among the thousands that were evicted from Mau Forest. She had to sit for the exams from a relative’s home. It is like all odds were against her.

Chepkoech scored a C+ in the results released by Education CS George Magoha on Wednesday. She will join university to pursue her dream course.

Prof. Magoha declared Sharon and five other candidates who managed to get university entry grades despite having less than 200 marks in KCPE as heroes of this year’s exams.

When Eliud Kipchoge said that no human is limited, he had people like Sharon in mind. We hope that the government will enable these candidates to achieve their dreams.

Opera News celebrates Sharon and other candidates who overcame hurdles to excel in this year’s exams.

Here are the stories making headlines this morning:
