Moses Kuria Mocks Gatundu Residents for Holding Demos Against him

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria Wednesday took to social media to chide his electorate, for holding demonstrations against him, over his alleged disrespect towards Uhuru Kenyatta.

The legislator, in a Facebook post, ‘praised’ the organizers of the protest which he sarcastically described as having been so massive, that political authors had to rush to the scene to record the occurrence in historical books.

“A number of Political Science PhD students have changed their thesis to ‘Organising Record-Breaking Political Demonstrations: The case of deep State in Gatundu South,” Kuria added in a fit of mockery.

Protesters marched in Gatundu town waving placards bearing warnings to Kuria to respect Uhuru, who served as the area MP from 2002 to 2013.

“We love our president,” one protester declared on her placard.

The agitated members of the public took their demos a notch higher by preparing a surprisingly realistic effigy of the politician, who is currently in the US, dragging it through the streets of Gatundu.

A witty Kuria was quick to jump on the chance to show off his infrastructural achievements in the area, specifically, the smooth tarmac roads.

“Note the quality of the roads where demonstrators were marching,” Kuria wrote.

Although a member of the president’s Jubilee party, Kuria is part of the faction of leaders who took Deputy President William Ruto’s side, after ODM leader Raila Odinga and Uhuru entered the Handshake pact, a move that has been seen as a major threat to Ruto’s political career.
