Top 10 High Schools in the 2019 KCSE

The Kenya High School recorded the highest number of top scorers in the 2019 KCSE examination.

76 of the candidates at the institution scored the A plain grade, Education CS George Magoha revealed Wednesday.

Kapsabet Boys had 49 students who scored the A plain grade, while Alliance Boys High School had 48 students who achieved the same grade.

Fourth in the list is Moi Kabarak High School, with 30 candidates scoring an A plain, followed closely by Alliance Girls High School which had 27 girls who scored the coveted grade.

MaryHill Girls also shone among the top scoring schools, with 25 girls achieving the top grade.

Maseno School, Nairobi School, and Mang’u High tied with 23 students from each institution scoring the A plain grade.

At position 10 is Moi Girls Eldoret, where 21 students also achieved the highest possible grade.

This brings the total of A plain scorers in the 2019 test to 627, while 5,796 students scored an A-.

125, 746 candidates are eligible to join university after scoring grades C+ and above.

16 subjects recorded a notable improvement in performance, including English, Swahili, Chemistry, and Physics.

Girls performed better than boys in English, Swahili, CRE, Home Science, Urban Design, and Kenya Sign Language.

Four candidates from special needs schools scored an A- grade, while 6 managed a B+.
