Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua recently shook the table after claiming that Deputy President William Ruto, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Garissa Town MP Aden Duale were threatening his life.
Reporting the matter to Kilimani Police Station, Mutua requested that his security team gets beefed up.
“I am putting this forth before Kenyans so that, if anything unusual happens to me or members of my family or my associates, the three can be held accountable. I have reported this matter to Kilimani Police Station under OB No. 50/16/12/2019,” he said when addressing members of the press after recording his statement.
Mutua asks for prayers
According to The Nation newspaper, the governor also asked Kenyans to pray for him in his time of tribulation.
“I am asking Kenyans to pray for me because we have bad people here in our country. Due to Kenya’s history [of] political assassinations, political violence, and intolerance, the seriousness of these threats cannot be said,” he added.
As they say, there are no permanent friends or enemies in the political scene and before this drama, Mutua and DP Ruto were chummy.
