Kenyans Attack Raila Over Latest BBI Advice

ODM leader Raila Odinga found himself on the wrong side of the BBI coin following his latest sentiments.

A section of Kenyans visibly criticised the leader who is the brainchild of the initiative as a result of the handshake deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Through a tweet, the veteran politician reiterated that Kenyans should be prepared for the debate surrounding the report.

According to the ‘Chungwa’ party leader, citizens should engage with the task force team that would be conducting a countrywide tour.

He asserted that the opportunity accorded should be used as a way to forge a path for the country in the future.

It is my appeal to all Kenyans to prepare to engage @TheRealBBI team that will be going around the country explaining the document with a view to having all shades of opinion captured. We should treat this as a chance for the nation to talk to itself about its future. #OdmPG,” read a tweet from the leader.

The sentiments were, however, received with mixed emotions by netizens.

A netizen identified as Euticus Mwongera remarked, “This is a new Kenya where you will not decide for us anymore. “Hiyo handshake ni hile ufinya Kenyatta kwa mkono ya karao” #WajingaNyinyi.”

Emmanuel Kimtai articulated, “@RailaOdinga bbi won’t carry you to state house the sooner you realize it the better. My humble request is u go back to people ask them for forgiveness. Change your ways according to the people needs. The people needs are simple. Otherwse wacha kulamba.”

Another netizen Anyanzwa Johnice noted that, “When We Thought We Had It Enough & The Economy Is Doing Bad… Baba and His Team Are Dropping Another Bombshell… If You Want To Know A Person True Character… Give Him/Her Power… BABA GOD IS WATCHING YOU – Continue Enjoying Life In Canaan As KENYANS Suffer In VIETNAM.”

Matu Kamu pointed out, “Mumetubeba ujinga for long why spend 10bn n launch an incomplete report tumechoka baba na uhuru.”

Zack Mkenya stated, “I as a Kenyan I do not need explanation…. My stand is “I DON’T WANT IT!!!!!!!”. #WaiguruSuesKingKaka #iStandWithKaka #RefugeeForum.”

The backlash comes in the wake of the extension term of the group by Uhuru during the Jamhuri Day celebrations.

The President reiterated that the Yusuf Haji led team was mandated to lead the next step of the project.

Details emerged that the group would be charged with developing and overseeing public interaction and structuring proposals by Kenyans which could be implemented.
