Blow For Arsenal as Italian Coach Opts to Join Rivals

Immediate former Napoli SC coach Carlo Ancelotti is set to be appointed a new Everton coach after reaching an agreement with the club hierarchy.

Ancelotti was dismissed by Napoli a week ago and Gennaro Gattuso appointed as his replacement the following. The Toffees, on the other hand, are without a coach after firing Marco Silva due to poor results. Club legend Duncan Ferguson is currently the club interim coach.

The Italian coach had been linked with a move to Arsenal but the club has since turned its attention to their former captain Mikel Arteta who is currently Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City.

According to Italian media, the former AC Milan, Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich are set to take over at the Liverpool based club after striking a deal with the club hierarchy. Everton was initially thought to be keen on bringing David Moyes back but changed mind when Ancelotti became available.

He joins a team that is just a few points above the relegation zone and he will be tasked with steering the team further towards safety. His arrival may also see some players exit in January so as to allow for new arrivals during the winter window.

Ferguson is expected to remain at the club as one of the backroom staff.
