Just a day after Deputy President William Ruto warned a section of Jubilee leaders against breaking the Jubilee Party, Nyeri town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has come out to rubbish the remarks.
Through his Facebook account, Ngunjiri, who has been so vocal against the DP, warned Ruto against thinking that Jubilee party was his personal property.
While faulting the DP as a principal cause of the division that exists in the party, Ngunjiri reminded Ruto that he was just a deputy party leader and does not in any have powers to call the shots.
“Someone tell William Ruto that he’s just the Deputy Party Leader of Jubilee Party and not the owner of the Party. Awache vitisho baridi (He should stop the threats),” stated Ngunjiri.
The first-time legislator also faulted Ruto accusing him of trying to run a coup against President Uhuru Kenyatta by engaging himself in early campaigns, while pretending that he was not answerable to anyone.
“As it is Ruto is the principal cause of the division that exists in the Jubilee Party after he tried to run a coup against the Party Leader Uhuru Kenyatta. He continues to undermine the Party Leader at every point & behaves as if he’s not answerable to anyone; his Boss included,” continued his statement.
The MP warned Ruto against thinking that the party only belonged to his allies, adding that he risked leaving the party if he continues issuing threats to leaders.
“Ruto must stop thinking that the Jubilee party is one of his personal properties. He must also understand that Jubilee is not only for his sycophants. It also belongs to those who believe in its Party Leader, Uhuru Kenyatta; and they are actually the majority. (His sycophants are just louder)…

His reactions come just a day after Ruto, on Sunday, sent a stern warning to a section of Jubilee party members whom he claimed had been ‘recruited’ to spread propaganda and wreck the party from within.
Speaking during a Sunday service at Chepngobob Methodist Church, Kericho County, Ruto warned the members to either make a U-turn and tore the party’s line or decide to quit the party altogether.
“I want to tell those who are dividing the party into two political factions; they either re-arrange themselves, get back into the house or to just decide otherwise. This is a democratic country,” remarked Ruto.
