Team News: Xhaka Out, Pepe Fit While Manchester City Sweat On David Silva’s Fitness

After winning for the first time in two months last time out, Arsenal faces a mountain test with the visit of Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners have been handed a lifeline in the race for a top-four finish after Chelsea and Leicester City dropped points on Saturday. A win for Arsenal would reduce the gap between them and Chelsea in 4th to just four points.

Meanwhile, for Manchester City, they simply cannot afford to drop any more points with Liverpool already 17 points clear in the title race. Pep Guardiola knows that its do or die as far as the pursuit for a third consecutive Premier League title is concerned.

Team News

The big news from Arsenal is Nicholas Pepe surviving two horror tackles from Westham and will be available for selection. The Ivorian scored and assisted one in the win over the Hammers.

Hector Bellerin, Granit Xhaka, Kieran Tierney, Dani Ceballos, and Rob Holding will all miss for Arsenal with injuries.

Manchester City will also be without record goalscorer Kun Aguero, Defenders John Stones, and Aymeric Laporte as well as German winger Leroy Sane. David Silva is also a doubt for the match.

Prediction

Both teams are doing very bad defensively and especially Arsenal who have only kept two clean sheets all season. Manchester City will also miss a host of defenders which means that Fernandinho will slot in at center back.

Clean sheets for both sides are a rare occurrence and almost a guarantee that each team will concede.

TIP: Over 2 goals @1.33
