Spurs Leave It Late To Claim Precious Three Points At Wolves

Tottenham Hotspur maintained their impressive record in the league under Jose Mourinho after a 2-1 away victory to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

With three wins from their four Premier League matches, Spurs were high on confidence and duly went ahead in the 8th minute after great work from Eric Dier set up Lucas Moura and the Brazilian could not miss.

The match was an evenly balanced one with neither side dictating proceedings for long periods. Half time found Spurs leading by the solitary goal.

Wolves came back with renewed vigor and almost equalized immediately after the restart but Adama Traore missed a glorious opportunity.

He would, however, make amends when a smart pass from Raul Jimenez set him up and Traoe finished cooly to level the scores.

The match looked destined for a draw until late in the game when Spurs went ahead again against the run of play.

Christian Eriksen swung in a devilish ball that only needed a firm header. As luck would have it, Jan Vertonghen was in the right place at the right time to grab a late winner in the last minute of normal time.

Spurs have now lost just once in the league under Mourinho, which was at Old Trafford against Manchester United. They are now fifth on the table with twenty-six points, just three behind Chelsea in 4th place.
