Police Arrest Armed Robbers in Vihiga Murder

Detectives in Vihiga have arrested two people suspected to have murdered a night guard and seriously injured another before robbing a supermarket in the area.

The two identified as 34-Yr-Old Edgar Bwamu Kendenge and 40-Yr-Old Jotham Nyabera were arrested on Tuesday, December 10 afternoon.

Police would find an assortment of crude weapons on the suspects and also impound a Subaru Legacy car which is suspected to have been used during the violent robbery.

Vihiga County Police Commander Mr Hassan Barua disclosed that the gang of thieves struck Imara Supermarket at around 4:30 pm.

The thugs would torture the two guards manning the retailer before cutting through the backdoor to cart away goods of unknown value.

In the aftermath, 48-year-old Benson Achega Musanda was stabbed to death while his colleague 76-year-old Jamas Induli Oluku left nursing serious injuries at Mbale Referral hospital.

The supermarket is reported to have suffered another attack during the year with residents lamenting over poor lighting near the marketplace.

Police have launched a manhunt to bring to book other accomplices in the Tuesday morning murder.
