The Kenya Premier League will be in action this weekend with 8 matches scheduled to take place. The highlight of the matchday will be Gor Mahia hosting 2010 champions Ulinzi Stars at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

Below, we look at players who could be the difference between a win or a loss for both teams.

Kenneth Muguna

The Gor Mahia captain comes alive during the big games and this is surely a big one. Muguna has three goals to his name so far this season but he is not all about goals.

The attacking midfielder is the creative fulcrum for his team and can pick a final pass like only a few others in the league. One for the Ulinzi backline to think about.

Joash Onyango

The defender is the assistant captain for the club and the undisputed leader of the backline. He will be up against an Ulinzi attack high on confidence after finding the net four times in their last match against Kariobangi Sharks.

Joash will be vital for the defending Champions.

Enosh Ochieng

The striker won last season’s golden boot and has already started the hunt for the accolade this season with three goals so far. Enosh has predator instincts especially in the box and will keep the Gor Mahia defenders alert all match.

A simple mistake or lapse in concentration and Enosh will definitely punish them.

Timothy Otieno

The goalkeeper was named as the best player for the month of October by the Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK). Otieno has kept 7 clean sheets in 10 matches for Ulinzi stars this season.

He is a large part of an Ulinzi side that boasts of the best defensive record in the league, having conceded just five goals so far. The Gor Mahia attack will have to be at their very best to beat Otieno.
