Uhuru Opens Up on Tense 45 Minutes With Raila, Magufuli Minister Lectures Kenyans on Tribalism & BBI Brings Bomas to Life

Good morning,

Have you read the BBI report or are you waiting for Raila Odinga aka Baba to read it for you like our good friend Junet Mohammed?

Speaking of Junet! A lot has been said about the way he ran the BBI report launch at the Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday. But do you know the last time ODM took charge of a national function? Well, it was during Raila’s swearing-in as the People’s President in January 2018.

Wednesday’s event was not an ODM function as some grumbled politicians have alleged. It was a national function, presided over by ODM, which is now part of the government.

The BBI has proposed the establishment of a robust opposition that will put the government on its toes. So if ODM is in government, then who is in the opposition?

It was a tough day for DP William Ruto and his tanga tanga team at the event. There is a video doing rounds on social media where Uhuru is laughing uncontrollably, while his deputy has a stone face beside him. This video summarizes what the event was all about.

Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen was booed when he complained about what was happening while tanga tanga blogger Dennis Itumbi was chased from the VIP dais “like a rat on the highway”.

Is Tanga tanga the official opposition in this regime?

BBI Brings Bomas to Life

To a majority who have followed the treacherous road of political reforms in the country, Bomas of Kenya, or ‘Bomas’, as it is simply referred, has been a theatre of dreams.

It has over the years been the stage where bitter political duels have been contested, leaving some parties badly bruised and nursing wounds (some literally) that have taken decades to heal.

Suna East MP Junet Mohammed has come under criticism for the way he conducted the BBI event at Bomas. Junet allegedly left out leaders allied to DP William Ruto from addressing the function. Do you think it was the right thing to do owing to the fact that this was supposed to build bridges?
