Inside Miguna’s Plan to be the First BBI Beneficiary

Deported lawyer Miguna Miguna, despite having spent the better part of the past few months advocating for the burning of the just-unveiled BBI report, is hopeful that the initiative might be his way back home.

Miguna, who was dramatically deported to Canada over allegations of double citizenship in 2018, revealed his intention to defy his ban from the country, now that President Uhuru Kenyatta, through BBI, says he wants to unite all Kenyans.

In the past, Miguna had asserted that he must return to his rightful home through whichever means possible.

According to the lawyer, Uhuru, in the spirit of building bridges, should honour court orders earlier issued delegalizing the former’s deportation.

“I’m organizing another journey to Kenya to test the seriousness of the Despot and Con-Man,” Miguna tweeted Thursday, referring to Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga respectively.

The two are the forces behind BBI, which was born out of their political truce, that was achieved in 2018 after 19 hours of discourse, as Uhuru revealed Wednesday, during the launch of the initiative’s findings to the public.

However, Miguna maintains the opinion that the political giants are only playing games with Kenyans for their personal gain.

“They have publicly stated that they respect citizenship rights and want to unite Kenyans,” Miguna noted.

“To prove that they are serious, let them obey court orders and give me my Passport,” the former National Resistance Movement (NRM) general dared.

Miguna’s last attempt to forceful return to the country backfired terribly, as he was kicked out yet again under humiliating circumstance after being detained at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) for close to three days.

According to Miguna, airport officials sedated him and forcefully sent him to Dubai, contrary to his constitutional rights.
