Karua Tears Into Ruto Over His Multimillion Chopper

Past and future presidential candidate Martha Karua on Tuesday pulled another attack at Deputy President William Ruto over his multimillion chopper that he used to access the flood-stricken county of West Pokot.

While reacting to State House Digital Secretary Dennis Itumbi’s post, the 2017 Kirinyanga County Gubernatorial Candidate questioned how the DP acquired his multimillion chopper.

Itumbi had tweeted a picture of Ruto’s chopper and captioned it: “DP William Ruto airlifting medical personnel to the affected sites in West Pokot.”

In response, Karua tweeted: “Good he is helping, but how did he acquire his choppers and ostentatious wealth or does the end justify the means?”

Also, the former MP urged the government to act swiftly in helping victims of the West Pokot landslide.

She asked the Ministry of Interior and State House Kenya to act on their mandate to salvage the situation.

@StateHouseKenya @InteriorKEit is your responsibility to ensure that the affected people of west Pokot get timely support and are not left to the mercy of well-wishers only!

“While at it, the same should be for all the people of Kenya affected by a disaster,” tweeted Karua.

Karua’s verbal attack comes hours after a section of Kenyans castigated the Cabinet Secretary for Interior, Fred Matiang’i, and his Devolution counterpart, Eugine Wamalwa, Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai and Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya, for failing to reach West Pokot area of tragedy.

On Monday, the chopper in which the leaders boarded re-routed to Eldoret due to bad weather.

“State officers, including CS @EugeneLWamalwa, @IG_NPS, Rift Valley RC and I have been compelled to land at Eldoret Int’l Airport on our way to West Pokot due to inclement weather.

“We hope to make there soon to appraise recovery & response operations and make possible adjustments,” tweeted Matiang’i.
