Sonko Reveals How Sakaja, 9 MPs Were Bribed to Attack Him

Nairobi County governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko is not an easy man to fight with.

A day after Nairobi Senator Johnstone Sakaja and a host of MPs held a press conference to castigate the County Chief for failing to deliver on his mandate, the Governor on Friday unleashed another fightback seemingly to clean his name.

Senator Sakaja leads a host of MPs in attacking Governor Sonko during a press conference at parliament buildings.

Taking to his social media accounts, Sonko claimed that the Nairobi leaders were bribed a total of Ksh5 million to make a statement against him.

“If you were wondering why the statement of the 9MPs (out the 21 Nairobi MPs, 17 elected MPs, 1Women Rep, 1Senator, 1 Nominated MP and 1 Nominated Senator), here is your answer.

“George Aladwa met with Matopeni MCA Abdi Hassan Guyo at his Town House Office where he was handed the press statement read by the MPs together with Ksh. 5 Million to share with the MPs,” wrote the Sonko on his Facebook page.

According to Governor Sonko, Senator Sakaja and MP Aladwa equally shared Ksh3 million and lied to their colleagues that they were given Ksh2 million.

“Well, what changed is that Sakaja received Ksh. 1.5 Million from the Ksh. 5 Million collected by Aladwa from Guyo, Aladwa kept Ksh. 1.5 Million for himself.

“However, when they came to the MPs, Aladwa and Sakaja lied to the MPs that they had received only 2M from Guyo and shared with the MPs Ksh. 250,000 each (for 7 MPs) and Sakaja also took another Ksh. 250,000,” added Governor Sonko.

Makadara MP George Aladwa and ousted Majority Leader Abdi Guyo. Sonko claims that it is at this meeting that the Makadara MP was bribed and given a statement to read at the press conference.

In reference to Sonko Facebook post, Matopeni MCA Abdi Guyo, who was ousted as the Jubilee Majority Leader, was at the centre of the bribery allegations.

Sonko Claims that the MCA despite being given Ksh10 million only delivered Kshs5 million.

Sonko adds that Guyo had collaborated with his sacked officials to make the plan successful.

“Needless to say, reliable sources have intimated that the Matopeni Mca received Ksh10 Million from the Land Grabber but only delivered Ksh. 5 Million and kept the rest for himself just like Sakaja and Aladwa kept Ksh. 3 Million between the 2 of them.

“The MCA was also behind the land grabbing of Highridge Nairobi County Clinic during the previous era where Nairobi County entered another consent under mysterious circumstances and whose land we have been fighting to repossess to this day with minimal success due to consent on record,” claimed Sonko.

The revelations come a day after Sakaja led a host of MPs in attacking Sonko at a press conference for failing to deliver on his mandate.

However, Governor Sonko dismissed the allegations as unfounded and political aimed at tarnishing his image.
