Shock as Kiambu Couple Beats Toddler to Death

Police are holding a couple who reportedly beat their four-year-old child to death.

According to neighbours of the couple from Karuri area, Kiambu County, the two are well known for instituting extreme disciplinary actions on their children.

This time around, however, their efforts to correct the toddler turned tragic after the child died while being rushed for treatment to a nearby hospital.

Neighbours notified police of the incident immediately they found the child languishing in pain.

The couple, detained at Karuri Police Station, has been identified as one Paul Kariuki and Cecilia Wangui.

According to police reports, the body of the deceased child had injuries on the head, arms and legs.

This comes just days after it emerged that a KDF soldier killed his two children after a court judged in the favour of their mother, also murdered alongside the children, in a child-upkeep case.

Peter Mugure lured his family to his Nanyuki home, where he allegedly murdered them and buried their bodies in a shallow grave that has since been identified.

Post-mortem results indicated that the children, Shanice Maua and Prince Michael, were strangled to death.
