Co-op Bank Awards Best Agent in Central Region

Co-operative bank has awarded Dickson Mutheni & his son Alex Mwangi for emerging the top Co-op Bank Agent in Central Region.

They received a trophy from Jane Kathuku, Regional Manager. The bank just concluded hosting forums across the country for business owners who operate Co-op Kwa Jirani agencies.

Recently, the bank emerged as the overall winner of the Kenya Bankers Association 2019 sustainable finance catalyst awards.

The event was held at Serena Hotel and was graced by the governor of the Central Bank. Equity Bank was position two while the Kenya Women Finance Trust was ranked third.

The awards were created to recognize institutions that practice sustainable finance which has a direct positive impact on the financial sector, the economy, the environment and the society at large.

Also, the bank recently posted  Sh10.9 billion net profit in the third quarter (Q3) of 2019 driven by 33 percent growth in non-interest income, which stood at Sh14.1 billion.

In September 2019 during ASK Mombasa International Trade Fair, the bank was named an overall winner in the Best Bank category and also the Large Trade Stand (Commercial & Industrial) category in 2019.

The award-winning bank has continued to support the agricultural sector and specifically farmers in all corners of the country.

This is evident at the ASK Mombasa International Trade Fair where the bank showcased its deep presence in the Coast Region, supporting farmers especially those organized in Co-operatives and producer groups.
